We always have a plan
Covid-19 has brought more than masks, social distancing, working from home, and worries etc. It also brought fewer plans. A couple of weeks ago while I was chatting with friends, we talked about plans. My friend said: “I don’t have plans”. And surprisingly we looked at her and said: What? Nothing? And I kept it in my mind, wondering about plans.
Could someone have no plans?
Everyday we make choices. We decide what is better for us. Although we don’t always choose, there is always a choice. Sometimes we are too overwhelmed with our chores, that we can’t recognize ourselves or our plans.
Then I put myself in my friend’s shoes, and thought: Why do we always have to plan something or have to enjoy a hobby or have to do something WOW? Actually we shouldn’t “have to” anything! Maybe this is the point. We look forward to doing something extraordinary and perhaps believe that a small achievement doesn’t matter. For sure, it does matter!!!
For a long time I felt uncomfortable when someone asked me about my hobbies. I felt diminished or embarrassed because I didn’t have a hobby. I compared myself to others. I was being unfair to myself. Then I started to develop a different perspective about hobbies. And guess what? I found simple hobbies and I allowed myself to try them, without pressure.
I am trying to see my plans in the same way, with nothing big enough to discourage me. Simple plans, that have one step at a time. Because having a plan makes me move forward.
I felt like Carrie Bradshaw (the main character from Sex and the City) in this post, LOL writing about chats with my girlfriends. I promise I won’t write names. 😉

Adorei a referência hahahaha
Pequenos planos, grandes conquistas.

That’s right, our plan could be smaller, for example plans for the weekend or bigger.
I like to have plans and annual goals to achieve every year, but I prefer step by step.

I agree. It is okay to have a big vision but small steps/plans that are doable. You write well.
