Shortcut
As I said in a previous post, my Chromebook doesn’t have the delete key. It wastes some seconds while I am typing. Then, I’ve found out that if you hold down ALT+BACKSPACE, it will work like a keyboard shortcut, allowing me to delete some words. Information Technology workers are used to using shortcuts, making their lives easier and faster.
Similar to tech savvy people, we also can use some shortcuts for our lives, making it easier and faster as well. However, life cannot be appreciated while running. Depending on your destination or goal, shortcuts could steal the beauty of life from you.
Who has never said: “oh, if I had the maturity that I have nowadays”, with a melancholy tone. It would allow me to enjoy life and avoid making mistakes. Although the opposite is also true, because anything will be fully enjoyable without being prepared for that.
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, shortcut is “a quicker way of doing something in order to save time or effort”. But what else does taking a shortcut in life mean? For sure, it might have a positive or negative meaning. It could be like a “jeitinho”, a brazillian expression that means an illegal or immoral behaviour – an easy way to achieve your goal. Or it could be focusing on what matters, making efforts where it is important, redirecting your way.
Discernment is the key. Discernment between what defines me and what controls me.
Sometimes I still forget to use ALT+BACKSPACE while I am typing. It might be a habit or a choice, who knows.

Adorei o texto.
Atalhos fazem parte da vida, mas acho que devem ser a exceção e não a regra.
