Behind my shyness
If there is something that I’ve learned on my walk of life, it would be that I always have to question my feelings. Our mind is not too obvious, some feelings are actually just masking other ones.
Everybody has five basic emotions – joy, fear, sadness, disgust and anger. Feelings are our answer for emotions, how we experience or perceive them.
Depending on the context, I used to say that I am a shy person. However, shyness is not a feeling that describes me well. Why did I use to say that? For sure I am an introspective and reserved person, but what else was I saying? Asking questions like that, made me learn to identify some habits and other feelings.
We grow up in a society where some emotions are not welcomed. There is a movie that shows exactly what emotions are – “Inside Out” and how important all emotions are, including anger and sadness. Unfortunately, we even don’t recognize them, because there is no register of them in our consciousness.
In order to survive, our mind develops some mechanisms to handle emotions. Moreover, develop some habits to avoid them, creating a safe place, where at first glance it might seem useful, however as we grow, it is no longer enough, not fitting into the current life.
I’ve learned that when I question and allow myself to understand it, I create something new! Then, I win.
