Have you already found your sense of belonging?
On an early Saturday morning, involved by love and active listening, some thoughts were turned into this post. While opening my heart to a friend, new ideas flooded my mind. Most of them were already conscious, but they took place differently. This was raw material from my own life and is something I realized through my experiences and feelings. It is also a source for my writing skills.
New challenges knocked on the door recently and new opportunities put me out of my comfort zone. Let’s start with a thought related to belonging.
During a meeting, a coworker shared a thought that reverberated in my mind for a while. We were talking about the perspective of the immigrant workforce. How an immigrant is willing to move out and look for a better place to work. Sometimes these changes are so much smaller than the decision to become an immigrant.
On the other side of the coin, when an immigrant finds their sense of belonging at work, this connection lasts and finds deep commitment. So, what makes me feel a sense of belonging at work or to coworkers and the community? I strongly believe that looking for those answers would bring creative solutions to the workplace.
In a diverse world, finding similarities in our differences and differences in our similarities can be the way to go! If I had to choose, a friendly environment, open-minded people, and a willingness to understand others would be the core of a meaningful relationship.
How about you? Sometimes we need to have a clear understanding of what makes us belong, so we would be able to find it!

Dé, seu texto caiu como uma luva, independente de ser ou não imigrante, ele é leve e ao mesmo tempo intenso, generoso e reflexivo como você sabe ser. 😍

Thanks for writing this. To me belonging means that I feel accepted, while also being encouraged to grow in who I am as a person.
